22 Tips/Facts for COOL Compliance

FMI has generously shared with us a memo summarizing the top 22 tips and facts learned during their recent store tours with USDA.  Perhaps most surprising is the number of inspections that USDA will be conducting: an additional 7,000 stores will be inspected with FY09 funding into 2010.  USDA has funds to conduct an additional 12,000 store inspections in FY10 and intends to conduct as many each year if Congress provides the appropriations.  USDA is also developing a database that will allow more information for you as well as more data crunching for the Agency.  Included in the 22 tips and facts is information on common COOL mistakes that are being made and some practical advice on compliance.
