DEER COLA
Bushism of the Day 213
Tuesday, September 6, 2005

Soon after we got out of the bed today, Cola ran downstairs to do his own usual morning routines.  Then he started barking really really loud.  I could almost hear echos.  His barks sounded different from his usual barks and he wouldn't stop, so I ran downstairs to see what was going on.  It turned out that he was barking toward the back of our house at two deer walking by.  By the time I made it to the storm window, they were about 2 houses down.  They were just strolling along in peace, and they looked so beautiful.  Cola didn't think so, I guess.  He stopped barking after I got there and watched them walk farther away from us.  The sighting made me feel warm and nice.  I just hope that they don't get hunted down by hunters here as I read in the papers that there was an overpopulation of deer and the local government has given permission to hunt down deer.  They look so innocent and beautiful.  It's a shame that some will need to be sacrificed to lower the population.
