Cola saw a cat up close for the first time today. It was so exciting. The cat was a black and white Calico, and it looked like a male one. He was bigger than Cola. When Cola first got his eyes on the cat, the cat was already staring at him sizing him up and down. Cola was scared and tried to pull back. I told him that I would protect him if the cat tried to do anything. The two stared at each other for a long time, to a point where the cat growled a little and looked quite scary. Even I was a little scared. I don't know the cat and who knows what he was able to do. He didn't have a collar on and he was huge!
I decided it was enough excitement and started to pull Cola away to go home. The cat started to follow us! It was so interesting. He had his head down while following, as if he was a predator. At some point the cat stopped and went under a truck when I turned around to look at him. He stayed under the truck but still staring at Cola. Cola somehow decided that he wanted to go after the cat and started to pull the leash toward the cat. I thought we were at a disadvantage cuz he had a better view of us than we him. I didn't want the cat to suddenly jump out and do something to Cola before I could react. The cat just sat under the truck staring at Cola. Cola started to bark at the cat. We were like that for a while, and a little kid joined our fun with his mini-motorcycle. The boy was annoying as he was trying to taunt both the cat and Cola. His nearby grandparent kept on watching him and yelling something at him, and the boy just pointed to the cat under the truck. I felt like maybe I should just walk Cola away to ease the grandparent's mind, as Cola was barking pretty loud.
Then W* showed up and called out Cola's name from his car. Cola shifted gear and started to chase W*'s car and dragged me back to the house, where W* unlocked the door for me.
Yeah, I was locked out and waiting for W* to come home to open the door for me the whole time all this excitement happened.
