BOO! IT'S HALLOWEEN! NO TRICKS = NO TREATS!
Bushism of the Day 260
Monday, October 31, 2005

It's Halloween today!  No one dressed up at work and I didn't feel like it was Halloween except my little desire to watch a spooky movie of some sort.  I didn't buy candies for Halloween, and I didn't even turn off the porch light and hide in the basement pretending no one's at home.  I just openly did as I normally do and that's that!

I was feeling nonchalant about this whole trick or treat thing with the kids until the door bell rang.  I was late on getting to the door, but I saw this little guy dressed as a dracula walking away.  I felt bad then because he was trick of treating alone, and yet I didn't get to give him anything, not that I had candies to give out.  Anyway, the next thing I know, Cola started to bark like crazy.  Even when I was in the basement and no one rang the door bell, he'd run upstairs and start to bark for no reason.

Then, door bell rang again.  This time I thought it was A*.  I was on the phone with Mom, so I was talking loud while getting to the front door.  I turned on the porch light to make sure that it was A*, but it turned out to be a couple of kids, wanting candies, of course.  I was surprised.  Now the kids knew that I was at home, so I couldn't just not open the door and walk away.  I ended up opening the door and apologetically told them that I didn't prepare any candies this year.  They looked disappointed when I closed the door.  I was feeling pretty guilty until I remembered seeing those kids not even dressed up to trick or treat!! What the heck!?  They expect to just knocking on people's door and receive free candies without even putting in the effort to dress up??  I decided it wasn't worth feeling bad over.  GEEZ!  No tricks = no treats!  HA!  At least that's what I told myself to make myself feel better.

After that, I turned off the lights inside and hid downstairs.  I didn't want to go through that again.  It'd be a different story if I weren't expecting anyone, but since I was expecting A*, I had to check the door sometime.  I called A* and told him to call me when he's outside so I know it wouldn't be the kids.

Now, the real fun started after A* arrived.  A* arrived all PO'ed.  He apparently locked his car keys in his car.  He has no AAA and refuses to call a locksmith.  So what does that leave?  I'd have to give him a lift to his house, of course.  I don't lend people my car.  I hate when people ask me that.  Are they kidding?!  Anyway, so I was quite annoyed myself because he always get himself in stupid situations that he himself created.  So we drove to his house in my car.  When we were almost there, he realized that he didn't have his house keys with him, so how could he get in to get his car key?!  We had to turn around!! OMG I almost smacked him right there!!  UNBELIEVABLE!  What a waste of time, gas, and effort!  After we got back, he finally faced up to his fate and called a locksmith.  Amazing.

Anyway, so that was A*'s story.  W* was supposed to come back from China today.  Since A* arrived so late, I wasn't sure why he even bothered showing up.  W*'s plane was expected to come in around 9pm after a 30-minute delay.  So, I estimated that he'd be home around 10PM.  A* said that W* will probably not come straight home.  I said, no, W* would.  Turned out that A* was right.  I waited until I had to go to sleep and no sign of W*.  After all that trying to get A* to his apartment and back in time and rushing A* out and stuff, W* didn't even bother to come home.  I decided to go to sleep and heck with him.  I would never do that to him, if I were in his shoes. Pfft. Bad, bad, VERY BAD W*.
