It's easy to bake (or buy) your own cake and personalize it with Chinese characters. Some RCS parents saw this cake at school on Sunday, December 9, 2007, and they wanted to know how it was done.
Many merchants on the internet make personalized icing sheets. You provide the merchant with a jpeg photo of the Chinese characters that you would like to use. Just the merchant with your photo attached. They will send you an icing sheet in the mail. Once you've received the icing sheet: you bake a cake, let it cool, frost with an initial layer of icing (or you buy a cake with plain icing), and then you afix the icing sheet you received from the merchant on top of the cake. The result is a beautifully decorated cake. It could not be easier!
Not only is the icing sheet pretty, it's also inexpensive.
Thanks to former RCS parent Patti Waldmeir for this information. Thanks to Jane Chen, daughter of Wang Laoshi (Mrs. Grace Chen), for providing the Chinese characters. Patti used icingcreations@yahoo.com for this cake.
