Introduction to APLUS Learning Center

APLUS Learning Center was founded in 1998 to provide after-school enrichment programs for 3rd to 12th grade students to enhance their academics.

Our mission is to help college bound students learn to excel in their academic endeavors. To achieve our mission, we have built our center upon three very fundamental elements: (1) experienced and outstanding faculty - all enrichment courses are taught by certified professional teachers, (2) small class size - the average class size is about 9,  and (3) advanced curriculum. With these three elements in place, we have witnessed a highly motivated learning environment where frequent interactions between teachers and students become the norm of the class, individual attention by the teacher is a standard practice, and increased self-esteem and confidence are the guaranteed results.

Since 1998, 22,000 students have benefited from our programs. As a result of our programs, many students have made outstanding achievements in academics like magnet school battery tests, Johns Hopkins CTY qualification tests, and standardized tests like the SAT and PSAT. In 2014, APLUS students made a remarkable achievement and received a total of 292 acceptances (including waiting pool) from Montgomery Blair Magnet, Richard Montgomery International Baccalaureate Program, Thomas Jefferson Science Magnet high school, magnet middle schools, and MCPS GT schools. The combined passing ratio was about 67-71%.

We accept students from 3rd grade through 12th grade. Courses offered include math, pre-algebra, algebra-1, algebra-2, geometry, pre-cal, Calculus, Math Workshop, PSAT, SAT, SAT-II, many levels of writing workshops, grammar, critical reading & writing, vocabulary and test preparation. All classes are offered in the spring, fall, and summer semesters.
