2016 Spring - New Course

Magnet Admission Test Prep - Preview (for current 2nd, 4th, and 7th grader)

In the past years, APLUS has been successfully helping many students achieving their academic goals and passing the rigorous GT and magnet admission tests. Our student makes up about 22% of total Montgomery County magnet student population.

As the competition to magnet schools become higher and higher, we have developed many programs that will be of help for those who plan to take the admission test. The test preview offered in Spring semester is one of the newly developed programs. This course provides students a semester long preview for the admission test. This class is especially helpful because the early start takes away the anxiety and pressure students usually encounter in the fall semester.

Class will be held on Saturday, 9:30am - 12:30pm, and 1:30 - 4:30pm (Except 3rd GT class is only available 1:30 - 3:30pm)

SAT 1600

This course is developed and designed for those who are in 9th or 10th grade and want to have an early start preparing their SAT. Unlike other SAT prep courses that usually runs in a short and intensive duration and provides little time for student to absorb, this SAT 1600 is an excellent prep course for 9th and 10th graders to review all SAT concepts thoroughly and practice in depth, aiming for a perfect 1600 when they take the actual SAT in 11th grade.

This class lasts for 16 weeks and has 2-3 actual full practice tests. Class is held on Saturday afternoon 9:30AM - 12:30PM, or 1:30 - 4:30PM

Math Olympiad (I)

The Math Olympiad programs prepare students for major math competitions at middle school and high school levels, including MATHCOUNTS, MOEMS, and AMC 8.

There are two levels of Math Olympiad classes offered:

§         Math Olympiad Level I - (learn 4-step solving strategies)

§         Math Olympiad Level II - (enhance speed and accuracy, and more practices and advanced concepts)

Though the difficulty level is different among these two programs, students will find all programs are challenging and helpful in enriching their mathematics concepts and preparing for verities of math competitions.

The class is held at 6:00-8:00pm on Friday evening.
