The key to the APLUS Math Workshop system is an incremental learning of mathematics. Students simultaneously learn a new mathematical concept and review old concepts.  The strengths of APLUS Math Workshop:

2.       How does APLUS Math Workshop work?

§  STEP 1: ASSESS SKILL LEVEL
Students begin at a comfortable starting level determined by our placement test.  The placement identifies students’ math ability without regard to their grade level.  Therefore, some may start a level that is higher than their school grade level while some may start lower. 

§  STEP 2: ADVANCE INCREMENTALLY
APLUS math workshop is a self-motivated-learning  approach, blended with tutoring assistance by on-site teachers.  Students work on assignments that gradually progress.

§  STEP 3:  TUTOR ASSISTANCE
Though the gradual progression allows most students to acquire the skills necessary to advance with little assistance, our on-site teachers monitor students’ progress closely and give individual instruction when need, minimizing student frustration.  Tutoring assistance is an integral part of APLUS Math Workshop Learning System and the guarantee of students’ success in math learning.

§  STEP 4:  PRACTICE MATH REGULARLY
Homework assignments allow students opportunities to review or practice new skills at home on a regular basis, preferably daily.  Homework ensure optimal comprehension and retention of concepts, establishing a strong foundation for advanced level.

§  STEP 5: ASSESS ACHIEVEMENT
As students complete each math subject such as fraction or system of equation, they are assessed to make sure students master the concepts needed to advance to next topic. Parents are informed of students' progress with regular progress report.
